Pool description:
This infinity pool combines the transparency offered by acrylic methacrylate on the 4 sides of the pool, with stainless steel on its 4 corners, the collection channel and the floor with a non-slip finish.
Acrylic methacrylate is an ideal material for pools of this type that have to be installed in attics, roof terraces or terraces due to the lightness of the material; weighs 4 times less than glass.
One of the corners of this pool has a custom inclination of 60 degrees, necessary to adapt the pool to the shape of the terrace.
The pool has an overflow on all 4 sides, the water flowing into a stainless steel channel, which leads the water to the compensating tank attached to the pool.
The function of the compensating tank is to re-compensate the pool water level after bathing to recover the effect of water overflowing from the sides. This pool installed in a private home in Barcelona has a high-performance variable speed pump to recover the water level in the shortest possible time; when the water level needs to be recovered (after bathing), the pump works at 100%, and when the pool is at rest, without use, the pump automatically regulates itself by lowering its revolutions. This type of pump not only recovers the pool water level in less time than conventional pumps, but also saves on energy consumption.
How do infinity pools work?
In infinity or infinity pools, the water is at the same level as one or more of the sides of the glass, exceeding its perimeter. The falling water is sucked in through intakes at the bottom and a drainage gutter around the perimeter, and returns clean to the pool through collectors.
The edges on which the water overflows have a slight inclination, almost imperceptible, but which is key to a silent overflow effect without splashing.
Apart from the many aesthetic and visual values of these overflowing or infinity pools (elegant, luxurious, fusion of the water with the horizon,…), another advantage that is highly valued is its cleanliness. As the water is in constant movement due to the overflow effect, any leaves or dirt that falls into the water will disappear over the edge, preventing it from reaching the bottom and accumulating or decomposing.
